Biography
James advises financial services clients on commercial, strategic and regulatory matters. These include complex financial reporting issues arising from the application of accounting standards, group reorganisations and distributable reserves.
James also has significant experience in the application of European and UK prudential risk frameworks such as the CRR / CRD IV and their interaction with accounting and financial reporting issues. This experience includes technical reviews of regulatory reporting, advice and assurance on governance and controls, ICAAP and Pillar 3 preparation.
His transaction structuring experience includes advising on acquisitions, IPOs, carve outs and disposals, Brexit planning as well as accounting and regulatory due diligence.
James has spent over twelve years’ supporting clients in the financial services sector with accounting and prudential risk matters. His clients have included a wide range of retail and investment banks, broking firms, asset managers and financial advice firms.
James also worked with a national banking supervisor in the Middle East to implement IFRS 9 and contributed to industry technical publications on assurance over banking regulatory ratios.
