Biography
Rupert is a tax partner based in our Southampton office and heads our specialist capital allowances service for the Southern region. He advises clients buying, building, selling or refurbishing commercial property to ensure they optimise the tax reliefs and incentives available to them.
Rupert is a dual-qualified chartered surveyor and tax advisor. During his career he has advised on projects ranging from £200,000 to £600m in value, including dealing with HMRC enquiries and acting as an expert witness in tax litigation disputes.
Rupert sits as an RICS assessor, examining prospective candidates who wish to qualify as Chartered Surveyors in his area of expertise. In 2017, he led the firm’s response to the Office of Tax Simplification’s review on simplifying tax relief for fixed assets.
