Biography
Tom leads RSM’s VAT Technology team to help clients with global VAT return compliance and reporting. This includes helping clients adapt to new regulatory requirements such as Making Tax Digital in the UK, real / near real-time reporting and SAF-T requirements in Europe.
Tom spent several years working at a large $100bn multinational as their global indirect tax technology expert.
As the global tax digitalisation lead he was responsible for implementing numerous VAT reporting solutions including Spain real-time reporting (SII), Hungary, Italy e-invoicing and numerous SAF-T countries.
Tom’s role extended to realising numerous process and systems improvements to make the VAT return compliance more efficient and reduce risk.
Tom implemented projects to embed robots (RPA – Robotic Process Automation) and projects involving machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Tom has also spent over a decade working at a Big-4 in VAT and tax technology roles.
